5 day challenge, day 2
- Što ćeš ti naručiti?
What will you order? - Ja ću čaj, imaju jako fine čajeve. A ti?
I’ll have tea, they have really good tea. And you? (💡 “Ja ću…” = I will have…) - Ja bih kavu, ako imaju zobeno mlijeko.
I’d like a coffee, if they have oat milk. (💡 “Ja bih…” = I would like…) - I možda bih nešto pojela. Nisam stigla doručkovati.
And maybe I’d eat something. I didn’t have time for breakfast.
- Konobar: Dobar dan, izvolite/recite/što će biti danas?
Waiter: Hello, what would you like? - Dobar dan, koje čajeve imate?
Hello, what kind of tea do you have? (💡 “Koje … imate?” = Asking what kinds of something they have) - Imate li zobeno/sojino/rižino mlijeko?
Do you have oat/soy/rice milk? (💡 “Imate li…?” = Do you have…?) - Imate li nešto slano za jesti ili samo kolače?
Do you have anything savory to eat, or just cakes?
- Može onda jedna kava sa zobenim mlijekom i jedan sendvič s pršutom, molim vas.
I’ll have a coffee with oat milk and a prosciutto sandwich, please.
(💡 “Može…” = I’ll have / I would like…) - A za mene čaj od mente i kroasan, molim.
And for me, a mint tea and a croissant, please. (💡 “A za mene…” = And for me…)
- Može li se platiti karticom?
Can I pay by card? (💡 “Može li se…?” = Is it possible…?) - Naravno. Samo to trebate reći unaprijed.
- Of course. You just need to mention it in advance.
- Oprostite, gdje se nalazi WC? / Gdje je WC?
Excuse me, where is the restroom? - Iza šanka s desne strane. Ključ vam je na šanku.
- Behind the bar on the right side. The key is on the bar.
- Hvala!
- Thank you.
🎯 For those familiar with cases:
- If you use “Imate li…?”, you need the accusative case.
- Example: Imate li (što?) čaj od mente?
- If you order with “Ja bih kavu…”, you also use accusative.
- Example: Ja bih (što?) kavu s mlijekom.
- If you order with “Može…”, you can use nominative
- Example: Može (što?) jedna kava (nom.)
